How To Get To McKinley Hill and Venice Grand Canal Mall?

11:42 PM by Metro Manila Directions · 116 comments

McKinley Hill is the newest development project of Megaworld Corporation (developers of Eastwood City), which will include residential areas and commercial complex, specifically for BPOs. It is located in Fort Bonifacio and just adjacent to Bonifacio Global City.

McKinley Hill is home to the following attractions:
1. Business complex that includes One World Square, McKinley Hill Cyberpark , and Commerce and Industry Plaza .
2. The Venetian Mall where the following can be found: Piazza Grande (a promising concert ground and events venue), Rialto Bridge, Venice Grand Canal Mall, St. Mark's Tower,
3. Educational institutions such as Chinese International School Manila and Korean International School Philippines (both found in Upper McKinley Hill), and Enderun Colleges , an international hotel school located at Park Avenue, and Mint College.
4. Residential areas (some already open for occupancy): McKinley Hill Tuscany, McKinley Hill Village, The Venice Luxury Residences, Morgan Executive Suites, Forbeswood Heights, The Bellagio
5. Embassy of United Kingdom and soon, the Korean Embassy
6. Blue Leaf Paviluon , an events place. 7. McKinley Hill Botanical Garden and Town Center.

Directions on how to get to McKinley Hill:

From the North:
Option 1. From EDSA, ride a bus southbound to Baclaran or Ayala or take an MRT and go down at Ayala and look for the jeepney terminal (under MRT station) and ride those that are bound for Market Market. Get down at the corner of Fifth Avenue and McKinley Road and look for jeepneys bound for FTI Gate 3. This will pass by McKinley Hill. Option 2. From EDSA, ride a bus southbound to Baclaran or Ayala or take an MRT and go down at Ayala and look for the bus terminal of TheFort buses (at the gate of Forbes across Shell Station) bound for Fort Bonifacio. These are air-conditioned buses that go around Fort Bonifacio. Get down at the corner of Fifth Avenue and McKinley Road and look for jeepneys bound for FTI Gate 3. This will pass by McKinley Hill. Option 3. From EDSA, ride a bus southbound to Baclaran or Ayala or take an MRT and go down at Guadalupe. There are jeepneys in Gaudalupe that are bound for AFP Housing and Fort Bonifacio. You can ride either of the two, both of those routes pass by McKinley Hill.  Option 4. From the C5 area, ride an FX or jeepney going to Kalayaan Avenue and go down at the intersection of Kalayaan and C5 (this is called "Buting"). There are jeepneys bound for Market Market from that corner. From Market Market, ride the jeepney that is bound for FTI/Gate 3, these jeepneys pass by McKinley Hill.
From the South:
Option 1. From EDSA, ride a bus northbound to Fairview or Monumento or take an MRT and go down at Ayala and look for the jeepney terminal (under MRT station) and ride those with signboard McKinley-Fort-Bonifacio-Gate 2 that are bound for Market Market. Get down at the corner of Fifth Avenue and McKinley Road and look for jeepneys bound for FTI Gate 3. This will pass by McKinley Hill. Option 2. From EDSA, ride a bus northbound to Fairview or Monumento or take an MRT and go down at Ayala and look for the bus terminal of TheFort buses (at the gate of Forbes across Shell Station) bound for Fort Bonifacio. These are air-conditioned buses that go around Fort Bonifacio. Get down at the corner of Fifth Avenue and McKinley Road and look for jeepneys bound for FTI Gate 3. This will pass by McKinley Hill. Option 3. From EDSA, ride a bus northbound to Fairview or Monumento or take an MRT and go down at Guadalupe. There are jeepneys in Gaudalupe that are bound for AFP Housing and Fort Bonifacio. You can ride either of the two, both of those routes pass by McKinley Hill. Option 4. From EDSA, ride a bus northbound to Fairview or Monumento or take an  MRT  and go down at Magallanes. Walk towards the San Lorenzo Place Showroom at the corner of Pasong Tamo. Look for the bus/FX terminal which are bound for McKinley Hill.  If you are in the Makati area:
From Ayala MRT Station:
There are jeepneys in the Ayala terminal (under MRT station) that are bound for Market Market. There are also jeepneys plying the Ayala route going to Market Market. Get down at the corner of Fifth Avenue and McKinley Road and look for jeepneys bound for FTI Gate 3. This will pass by McKinley Hill. From Pasong Tamo/Magallanes MRT Station:
Option 1: Go to the San Lorenzo Place Showroom at the corner of Pasong Tamo and EDSA. Look for the bus/FX terminal which are bound for McKinley Hill.  Option 2: There are also jeepneys passing along Pasong Tamo/Mantrade/WalterMart (along Pasay Road) that are bound for FTI. Ride the one that goes to Gate 3. From Gate 3 or end of Pasong Tamo Extension, there are jeepneys bound for Guadalupe, passing by McKinley Hill. From Guadalupe-EDSA Station:
There are jeepneys in Gaudalupe that are bound for AFP Housing and Fort Bonifacio. You can ride either of the two, both of those routes pass by McKinley Hill. Ask the driver to be dropped at McKinley Hill or One World Plaza.
If you are in the Taguig or Paranaque area, ride a jeepney going to Nichols in Taguig, ask to be dropped off the Gate 3 - where the jeepney terminal to The Fort is located. From Gate 3 , there are jeepneys bound for Guadalupe, passing by McKinley Hill.

For private vehicles: McKinley Hill is just along Lawton Road that connects South Super Highway (via FTI/Nichols/Villamor Airbase exit) and Bonifacio Global City. It is also accessible through C5 via the McKinley Hills gate past the exit of Market Market/The Fort in the southbound lane. The area can also be accessed through EDSA northbound using either a) Kalayaan Avenue b) McKinley Road going to Forbes by the Ayala corner or c) C5 flyover coming from Buendia. It is advisable to just approach via Lawton Road since this road is not too traffic heavy yet compare to C5.

Of course, you can ride a taxicab from any area around the metro and just mention "McKinley Hill" or "Venetial Mall" and the driver already knows where to go.

View McKinley Hill via Google Maps.

Hi,

Just wanted to ask about the transpo to McKinley Hill from Makati... Does the Fort Bus reach the area? Also, how scarce are taxis from McKinley Hill to Ayala?

Thanks!

If i ride PNR and go down FTI. what should i ride to go to upper Mckinley Rd, Mckinley Hill? thanks! :D

Rain Chua said... June 5, 2013 at 7:51 PM

There's actually a bunch of FX/Vans at San Lorenzo Plaza (Pasong Tamo entrance, across Alphaland) which all go straight to McKinley Hill. The fare's only Php 25. This is more convenient than the jeepneys because this really drop you off at your location - for example if you need to go to the Korean School, British Embassy, or sometimes even the Korean Embassy.

If you're from the south (Batangas, Laguna, PQUE, etc.) buses A and C drop you off at Magallanes bus stop or near the Magallanes PNR Station. You can walk a bit towards San Lorenzo place from there.

If you're a bit adventurous too, you can try the habal-habal (motorcycle passenger) at the Ayala MRT Station, just below it. It's only Php 40 from Ayala to wherever you need to go in McKinley Hill. This is a legitimate company that runs habal-habals in Taguig and Makati, so it's safe and very fast, too!

Hope this helps!

Alam nyo yung Citylink bus na may route from Eastwood city to NAIA Terminal 3 and vice versa. May nakakaalan ba ng sched ng byahe from New Port City bus stop(one of their bus stops) to McKinley Hill bus stop. Papunta kasi akong Emperador Stadium inside McKinley. Please help me. Sabi kasi mas convenient ang Citylink bus kasi papasok talaga sa loob ng McKinley Hill. Salamat sa makakatugon!

Caitlyn Jenner Talks About Her Mother’s Reaction and Transgender Fans (NEW PHOTOS)

Read the extended conversation between Caitlyn Jenner and Buzz Bissinger with new details that weren’t included in the July cover story.
Photograph by Annie Leibovitz.

Vanity Fair*’s top-secret July cover story on Caitlyn Jenner was three months in the making, with V.F. contributing editor Buzz Bissinger shadowing the Olympic gold medalist for hundreds of hours during the final stages of her emotionally arduous, sometimes physically painful transition from male to female. During one of Jenner and Bissinger’s final meetings, following Annie Leibovitz’s portrait shoot, the reality-star-turned-role-model spoke candidly about how she hopes her personal journey will help readers of all demographics better understand being transgender.*

Jenner also discussed her nervousness about her 89-year-old mother meeting “Caitlyn” for the first time, which Oscar winner requested a meet-and-greet after her Diane Sawyer special, and why she is already more popular with family members than “Bruce.” Ahead, the frank, fascinating, and occasionally funny conversational highlights that did not make it into Vanity Fair*’s extensive, all-access feature.* —Julie Miller

How Jenner will celebrate once the Vanity Fair feature hits newsstands.

Buzz Bissinger: What’s the first thing you’re going to do?

Caitlyn Jenner: I’m just going to go live life, I’m going to go enjoy life. I have nothing left to hide. I am kind of a free person, a free soul. [Up] to this point I would wear, you know, Bruce would wear, you know, sweatshirts with hoods on them so paparazzi can’t get pictures and all that kind of crap, and I didn’t want them to see if my fingernails were polished or, you know, on and on and on. It was just hell.

Bissinger: It’s like you’re being liberated now. It must feel great.

Jenner: To be able to wake up in the morning, be yourself, get dressed, get ready to go out, and just be like a normal person. That’s a wonderful feeling to go through life. I’ve never been able to do that; it’s always been confusion, it’s always been, you know, I’ve got one side [with] boy clothes, the other side’s women’s clothes. It’s like I cleaned the whole closet out—the boys stuff is gone, O.K.?

Watch the video where Caitlyn discusses her role models and how grateful she is to Laverne Cox and other “pioneers.”

Why people already prefer “Caitlyn” to “ Bruce.”

Jenner: Even my son, actually, Burt said that to me one time. He goes, “To be honest with you, I think Caitlyn is a lot better person than Bruce.” And I really have to—I think he’s right, because Bruce always had to tell a lie, he was always living that lie, every day, he always had a secret from morning till night. Caitlyn doesn’t have any secrets. It’s funny, my mother, my mom, she has not met Caitlyn yet. We’ve talked on the phone, she is coming down.

Bissinger: When is she coming down?

Jenner: In about a week and a half, O.K. I’m sending a plane to go pick her up, and my sister, because she’s 89 years old and cannot get on the airlines, but she has to come down and, you know, we have to do this.

Bissinger: You’re sending a plane out?

Jenner: Yeah.

Bissinger: You’re the cheapest person I ever met, I can’t—

Jenner: I know, but for my mom I’ll send a plane.

Bissinger: Yeah, but you, like, hunt for golf balls and—

Jenner: I know. What I told her: “Isn’t Caitlyn a much better friend?” Bruce, he would never send a plane. No, no, no, what a jerk the guy was, O.K., Caitlyn is like, “Send the plane. Mom, we’re sending a plane, we’re going to go pick you up and bring you down here.” [...] It seems like she has a lot more friends than he ever had.

To get special early access to the revealing story and stunning photographs now, before the issue hits newsstands on June 9, subscribe to Vanity Fair’s digital edition.

What she hopes her mother will think of “Caitlyn.”

Jenner: My mom is, for 89 years old, is extraordinarily open-minded. I’d wonder how her reaction will be, but like most people, it’s all, all the emotions are in the anticipation of meeting you. Once they meet you and they spend five minutes with you, they go, Oh, O.K., I get it, big deal, let’s go on with life. And I think my mom will kind of be the same way, especially if Caitlyn keeps sending planes to pick her up and bring her down.

We had a conversation the other day, we were talking about a lot of things, and, you know, she goes, “You know what, I think I can have a better relationship with Caitlyn than I can with Bruce,” because we’ve always had a little tension in our relationship throughout the years. [. . .] And so when she ends the conversation, she goes, “O.K., good-bye, Caitlyn.” It was very funny, very cute.

Caitlyn in her 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The $180,000 car was a gift from Jenner’s wife Kris. Photograph by Annie Leibovitz.

What kind of feedback she received after last month’s Diane Sawyer special.

Jenner: The reaction was absolutely amazing. Even Mark, who is the producer on Diane’s piece, says, “Well, I had breakfast with Reese Witherspoon this morning and she couldn’t stop talking about you. All she wants to do is meet you.” She never wanted to meet Bruce, you know, but Caitlyn it is. It’s just that’s the way people are, and I understand that.

Honestly, since the Diane Sawyer piece, every day it’s like, it’s exciting to go to the mailbox . . . Because I get letters every day from all of these people from all over the world. I’ve gotten a lot from trans women, and telling their story and telling how excited they were to see the Diane piece. And so for non-trans people, just regular people who watched the games and now they see this, they’re just so proud of you.

But I so appreciate those things. I mean, I read every one of them, a lot of them I answer; in fact, the other night I got a letter from a trans woman in New York and she had so many interesting things to say, but at the end she left her telephone number, so I called her.

Bissinger: Really?

Jenner: I think she was very surprised I called. So I called her because for me, I am, I don’t, I’m new to this community.

Bissinger: You’re much nicer as Caitlyn than you were as Bruce.

Jenner: Bruce never would have called her; but anyway, Caitlyn calls—

Bissinger: He wouldn’t want to pay for it.

Jenner: Yeah, that’s exactly right. And so I thought I need to learn about the people, O.K., and here’s this lady living in New York state, she actually works in an operating room, transitioned 15 years ago, doing very well in her life, but obviously went through hell to get there, and I want to know these stories so I can—I have a platform that’s so large, how can I use that to make this better? And the only way I could do that is to talk to people.

Bissinger: How long were you on the phone?

Jenner: Probably close to 45 minutes, we talked forever. Actually I think I woke her up, because it was East Coast, it was three hours later. I think she was sleeping, and then I woke her up and she kind of was a little groggy, and I told her it was me and I got your letter, and I’d love to talk to you; and boy, she woke right up, and we talked for 45 minutes and she was so interesting.

How she thinks people will react to the feature and the first official photos of her.

Bissinger: Aren’t you scared, what’s going through you?

Jenner: No, I’m excited about that one. I’m excited about that one.

Bissinger: You’re not scared the reaction will be, Oh, God, what’s going on, I don’t get this?

Jenner: Honestly, I think the reaction will be, holy crap—

Bissinger: You look pretty hot.

Jenner: I mean these pictures—Annie, Vanity Fair, spared nothing doing it right, and the wardrobe, everything involved with it were just, the people were just great. It was, you know, two of the best days of my life. The pictures came out over-the-top great, you know, and I think people’s reaction when they see it, I was always worried—you never wanted to look like a guy in drag, you never wanted to look like a guy in a dress, O.K. If you’re going to do that, come out, you really have to look the part. You have to look very feminine, you have to be able to, what I call my presentation is extremely important because it puts people at ease. And if you can do that, O.K., people are at ease, they’re just comfortable being around you. And Vanity Fair, I think that when they see the pictures, the images, and all that kind of stuff, learn your name, people will probably go, My God, why didn’t you do this earlier?

How she hopes older generations will react to the piece.

Jenner: I hope they’re happy for me, O.K.? I hope that they all understand that life is very complicated. That [the gold medalist they remember] was me in 1976, I did that and I am extraordinarily proud of what I was able to accomplish. I make no excuses for it, but that was all of me that did that, it wasn’t just Bruce, it was all the things that—I was a dyslexic kid, I was suffering from gender dysphoria, I had all these other issues in life, but when I latched onto this thing called sports, I probably latched onto it harder than most kids did. Why? Because I needed that. Never knowing where I was going, but after years and years of playing the game and trying to prove my manhood, you know, next thing I knew I wasn’t trying to make my high-school team anymore, I was trying to be the best in the world at something. And this was my chance to go out there to the world and do something significant. And it became real important to me, and I put so much time and energy and work into this thing, and it was part of me. But it was all part of me: it was the dyslexic kid out there, it was the transgendered kid out there, it was Bruce out there, all these things, all the emotions were all—that’s what made me work so hard, that’s why I was more determined than anybody else. I went out there and did it. And I am extraordinarily proud of that. It wasn’t all of me, but for that moment, I can say I was the best in the world at that.

“That was a good day,” she says of winning gold, in 1976. “But the last couple of days”—being photographed as Caitlyn by Leibovitz—“were better.” Photograph by Annie Leibovitz.

On the Vanity Fair feature meaning more to her in some ways than her Olympic gold medal.

Bissinger: You said something after the shoot that was incredibly poignant, I thought. You had the gold medal on top of the table, the gold medal you won for the Olympics, and you said that was a good day, but the past few days of this shoot have been better.

Jenner: They were.

Bissinger: Why? What did you mean by that? I mean, you were talking about a gold medal, something that everybody covets and wants, and yet these past few days have been better. Why is that?

Jenner: That was a sporting event; the last few days is about life, O.K., about living your life. About being true to yourself. I was probably at the games because I was running away from a lot of things, O.K., very, very proud of the accomplishment, I don’t want to diminish that accomplishment, but the last few days in doing this shoot was about my life and who I am as a person. It’s not about the fanfare, it’s not about people cheering in the stadium, it’s not about going down the street and everybody giving you “that a boy, Bruce,” pat on the back, O.K. This is about your life and about who you are. And the last few days have been absolutely amazing, you know, I never thought, you know, that some day I’d be able to do this.

On seeing “Caitlyn” all glammed up for the shoot.

Jenner: [During the shoot] I had this one time where I had not had a mirror behind me and they put this mirror up behind when I was doing this shoot. I had this rocking black outfit on, formal outfit, and I kind of, from a distance, looked in the mirror and I felt, Oh, my God. That’s the first time I’d ever really seen an image of me, of who I am. I mean over-the-top better than I thought it would ever be, especially at my age. You know, you think it’s kind of over with at that age. And seeing that image was powerful to me, you know, powerful. And I kind of looked at it and said, You know what, this is going to work, we’re going to be O.K. with this, you know. So yeah, we move forward. I am so excited about the future.
